ABEC precision vs C3 clearance vs shaft fit
Precision, internal clearance and mounting fit are three different specification dimensions.

What to check
Precision
A tolerance class concerns permitted dimensional deviations and running accuracy. It is not the amount of free movement between assembled rings.
Internal clearance
C2, Normal, C3 and other clearance groups describe internal play under defined conditions. C3 does not mean ABEC 3; fit and temperature can reduce the operating clearance.
Shaft and housing fit
A fit is the relationship between mating dimensions and tolerances. It cannot be chosen from ABEC alone. Use the fits and operating-clearance tools with the actual loads and temperatures.

ABEC rating chart: ABEC 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9
ABEC is a tolerance classification for ball bearings. Higher standard class numbers indicate tighter specified tolerance limits, not a universal rating of durability or speed.
