What to check

01

Ask what is being measured

A proprietary product name may contain a number without defining a standard tolerance class. Look for a stated standard, scope and inspection limits.

02

Do not round a claim into a grade

ABEC 11 is not converted into ABEC 9 in this database. Unverified or nonstandard labels remain unclassified.

03

Use a measurable selection requirement

For a 608 or any other bearing, check the drawing and needed runout, then verify the actual product evidence. A class label does not set the bearing dimensions.

Reference basis & data limits

Manufacturer terminology is retained in the product records. Technical reference basis: JTEKT Basic Bearing Knowledge (boundary dimensions, tolerance classes and lubrication); NSK Bearing ABCs (lubrication, designations and clearance); NTN technical FAQs (closure codes and component interchange); SKF rolling-bearing selection and maintenance references.

Selection workflows and catalogue grouping are BearingScope editorial aids. Verify the current drawing and application requirements before using a candidate. Missing database information is not converted into an assumed match.
