Keep the evidence with the model shortlist
The models on this page illustrate bearing roles; they are not confirmed replacements for an unspecified machine. Keep the original complete marking, machine position, load and speed duty, temperature, lubricant and mounting arrangement together. Check the candidate's recorded values below and leave unreported parameters unknown.

What matters in this application
Machining duty
Record cutting forces and moments, speed range, duty cycle and acceptable tool-point displacement.
Matched arrangement
Identify the contact angle, number of bearings, set orientation and specified preload or spring arrangement.
Thermal system
Include lubricant delivery, cooling, fit changes and differential expansion in the operating-preload assessment.
Which bearing structures make sense?
Precision angular-contact pairs
A starting architecture for combined support and controlled stiffness.
Check first: Use the exact matching and preload requirements; dimensional agreement alone does not create a set.
Hybrid precision bearings
Investigate where the design benefits from ceramic rolling elements.
Check first: Hybrid construction does not by itself establish an approved speed, preload or electrical-system solution.
Larger bearing envelope
Can be evaluated where load or stiffness requirements drive the design.
Check first: A larger bearing can alter thermal behavior and speed capability; it is not a universal upgrade.
Recommended starting points
These candidates illustrate specific roles and envelopes, not a ranked list or interchangeable set. Review each condition before using a model in a design.

Work through the selection
- Define tool-point load, required accuracy, stiffness, speed and the complete thermal duty cycle.
- Select the bearing series, contact angle and support layout, then calculate bearing loads and shaft deflection.
- Set preload using the maker's data and the actual spacers, fits, lubrication and cooling scheme.
- Verify assembly cleanliness, set orientation and runout; perform the specified run-in and controlled thermal checks.
Symptoms worth checking
Heat increases rapidly with speed
Review preload, lubricant quantity/delivery, cooling and bearing-set configuration.
Chatter or poor surface finish
Check tool holding, balance, stiffness, runout and the entire spindle system before changing accuracy class.
Repeat failure after replacing one bearing
Check whether the original support was a matched set and whether spacer geometry or mounting changed.
Symptoms are investigation prompts, not a diagnosis. Isolate equipment safely and follow its maintenance procedures before inspection.
Have the original designation?
Look up the complete model and suffix before comparing potential alternatives.
Application questions, answered
Can I mix individual bearings from different brands into a precision pair?
Do not assume they will form a valid matched set. Contact angle, face offsets, preload and tolerances must meet the specified bearing-set design.
Why are some speed values missing?
The database summary does not contain those limiting-speed values. Missing data is shown as a dash, not estimated from a similar bearing or replaced with a generic spindle speed.
Does a higher precision grade mean higher load capacity?
Precision grade describes accuracy requirements, not a universal load increase. Compare the actual load ratings and the intended stiffness, speed and thermal behavior separately.
